There are plenty of oilfield jobs out there right now but the problem is getting your resume out to so many companies at a price you can afford. There are hundreds of companies looking for workers for offshore oil rig jobs, land rigs and service company jobs. In the Barnett Shale Alone there are over 300 rigs running right now and dozens of service companies that support them.

Service companies provide everything on a rig site from communications and satellite gear to drilling mud, well logging and mud logging services and trailer homes to live in. Any one drilling rig may have as many as 100 service company workers supporting it. As for the rig crews themselves, a typical rig crew can have six to eight workers per shift in either 8 hour or 12 hour shifts.

Pay for roughnecks keeps on rising. In some areas of the country roughneck pay has doubled in the last two years. Even if you lack experience there is a great need for roustabouts and you can work your way up to roughneck from there. The sky really is the limit in the oilfield. If you prove yourself and keep working your way up the ladder there are many jobs making over $100,000 per year.

Even if you only have a high school education or GED there are many oil and gas companies hiring for jobs paying $20 per hour or more on offshore rigs and land rigs in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, Montana, North and South Dakota and many more locations.
